Bennett Academys new location is in Mamaroneck, NY. Both online, and In Person lessons and classes continue to be our main form of instruction. Currently our Guitar and Composition Teacher, Zev Burrows can only teach Online.

In-Person Lessons COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Teachers will not teachStudents who shows any symptoms of illness .
Teachers will stop a lesson immediately if Student develops symptoms of illness while in a lesson,
In the increase in covid infections, or any new variant that shows high transmission, everyone must wear masks, (singers of course do not have to but must stand behind a screen or stand six feet away. All teachers use hand sanitizer upon the beginning and ending of class. The teacher will have disinfected hands a mask for guitar and piano lessons and a face screen for vocal lessons. Vocal students must have a face screen or stand 6 feet from teacher in the room.
Students must sanitize their hands and the piano keys with the teacher before playing the instruments
In case of illness of teacher or student, family of student: Families will be notified if there is a substitute music teacher. If a substitute music teacher is required, the music lessons will be online from the students' lesson rooms and not in-person at the students home.
The teacher will be supplied effective sanitization products by Bennett Academy with hospital grade cleaners.
Students must use hand sanitizer before and after playing the piano and the pianos will be wiped down between students.
Everyone must have masks on while the Teacher is conducting a lesson, Masks do not have to be worn by the family if they are on a different floor from the student and the teacher.
ONLY Teachers who are fully vaccinated, routinely test negative, and or who are willing to wear PPE properly throughout the duration of the lesson will be teaching in the students. Teachers not fully vaccinated will be routinely tested for in person lessons, or will teach online. Temperature checks can be done by teacher or parent upon entering the lesson room. Due to covid variants (Delta and Mu) ALL teachers despite vaccination status MUST wear protective gear. All students must wear protective gear in the lesson room despite vaccination status. We will continue to look to the CDC for mask and vaccination requirements and regulations. *Singing students must stand 6 foot or more from the teacher in lessons.
Theatre class will be with masks, students can also wear face screens that sit close to the face, during class. The acting face screens will be provided by Bennett Academy
