Summer Acting Camp
Fun Summer music and acting for ages 7-9, 10-12, and 13-15, 16-18
Starts July 5th to July 28th
Schedule:
Weekdays 9am to 3pm
Summer Session for the Beginner Classes will center around the Creation Of Character, Students will learn:
Acting Exercises designed to encourage students to explore their own physicality and then apply that newfound physical awareness to the creation of different characters
Students will be tasked with portraying animals, family members, etc and will deepen their improvisational skills as they attempt to freely live as these characters.
Students will be asked to choose a stranger they have observed and using the skills they have developed over the session, write and perform a monologue as that character
Students can pair up and develop a scene to work on in person at the filming location.
The class will strengthen students’ writing, communication (In all forms) and social connection. This is a great course for shy children, or parents looking to build confidence and communication with their children. It is a great course for the young actor and helping them build their emotional intelligence and speaking power.
Summer Session for teens (13-15)-Will center around script analysis and scene work. A play and one screen play will be used as the central texts working together and with your Acting Coach. Classes will include:
Reading through plays and screenplay texts,
Breaking down fundamental aspects of the scripts such as character, motivation, relationships, and authorial intent
Students will be paired and assigned scenes from the script to be rehearsed and eventually performed in person at the end of the Summer Session
